Hi, I’m Kerry Adkins, the president of OnTime Service. Thank you for your interest in our company. If I may, I’ll tell you a little more about us and about how we work to serve our customers.
My father, George Adkins, began the business in 1975. Eight years later, I joined him as an apprentice electrician. For almost four decades, we focused primarily on residential service and repair and new home construction. In 2014, we began a heating and cooling division. That same year, we moved to our existing location on Old Rocky Ridge Road in Hoover, not far from Lakeside Baptist Church.
When my father started the business, we were primarily involved in commercial and residential electrical service and new home construction. We have worked in thousands of homes and on thousands of commercial projects in Jefferson and Shelby Counties.
To better reflect our commitment to arriving at a customer’s home or business when we say, we changed the company name to OnTime Service. We back up that commitment with this promise: We show up on time or we pay you $59!
We are very picky about the licensed heating and cooling technicians and electricians we hire. We conduct extensive background checks on prospective employees and we perform random drug tests. We insist that our employees are professional, neat, and clean, that they have no visible tattoos or piercings and that they are non smokers. If an OnTime Service employee ever smokes, swears or leaves a mess in your home, our service will be free.
OnTime Service is a member of the Better Business Bureau, Homewood Chamber of Commerce, Vestavia Chamber of Commerce, Hoover Chamber of Commerce and National Fire Protection Association.
We love to support local charities. If you are aware of a worthy and effective local charity please contact us with their information. We host representatives from charities periodically to educate our team about their work and then we decide as a team which charity we will support. We really enjoy hearing firsthand about the great work some of these organizations are doing in our community.
My wife, Carol, and I are Christians and are actively involved in a local church, so our business is based on Christian principles and ethics. We are honest and upfront with everything we do. That is why we quote all jobs before we start and offer a 100 percent satisfaction guaranty. We are not perfect but we make every effort to take responsibility for our mistakes and correct them. I believe it is possible to operate our business in a way that creates a win, win, win situation. That is, our client wins by receiving outstanding service and value, our team member wins by earning a good wage and having a positive, supportive work environment and our company wins by earning a profit for our effort which allows us to grow and provide more opportunities.
Carol and I are thrilled to have the team of professionals who work with us. And we are humbled by the thousands of Birmingham-area homeowners who have entrusted us to take care of their heating, cooling and electrical needs.
