2. Canoe and Kayak Trip

3. Zombie Night Run
If you and your family love “The Walking Dead,” this may be the perfect event for you! On Saturday, May 11th, you can dress up as a zombie and participate in the fun run. Party with the other zombies afterwards with live musical performances and an awards presentation. Included with your ticket purchase will be event t-shirts and gift bags to commemorate this fun event! As an added bonus, all proceeds from this event go toward continued funding of local after school programs, scholarships, and other resources for children and families in the community. 4. Camping and Canoeing
Another fun way to celebrate Family Day is taking a camping and canoeing trip with the Five Mile Creek Canoe Company and Campground. Owned by the town of Brookside, this creek and campsite offer some of the finest canoeing and kayaking, as well as beautiful grounds for camping. Located 20 minutes from downtown Birmingham, this area is a little slice of heaven for you and your family to unplug and spend some quality time in nature.

5. Rocket City Fair
For multiple days of family fun, you can bring your loved ones to the Rocket City Fair at Joe Davis Stadium.
